Paul Martinez : NanoEngineering, Bioengineering
My name is Paul Martinez. I am from a very underrepresented, low-income area in Sacramento, CA. I am a first-generation college student majoring in NanoEngineering emphasizing in Bioengineering focusing in Tissue Engineering with a minor in Business under the Jacobs School of Engineering residing in Warren College. This past year I have had a hand in many different aspects of college life by being involved in student government within Warren College Student Council and working as a Warren college senator with the Associated Students of UCSD, working for UCSD Recreation and Outback Adventures, being part of numerous organizations like the Society of Professional Hispanic Engineers, the Biomedical Engineering Society, and the NanoEngineering and Technology Society. I have been involved in intramural sports and UCSD external representation at the California State Capitol to lobby and push for environmental concerns, as well as, academic concerns. I have been quite busy this past year with both extracurriculars and academics and would be willing to help in any way that I can.
